I bought a house in 2005, then sold it in 2010 but since it was on the low end, starter home, the value was still good and I made money. The house I bought in 2010 we sold in 2014 and did okay on that one too. Of course, now that house is worth at least 100k more. Dumb divorces always getting in the way of financial success.
