Did you not have any residents attached to your clinic for consults? From the few places I've seen, I thought fellows were mostly the surgical back-up attendings.

I was pretty sure I was going to do retina myself, but one of our recent grads quit 6 months into fellowship. He felt he was being treated poorly and our residency call is so chill (had probably 30% no hitters) that I don't think he realized what he was getting in to. Hearing some of his stories kind of pushed me away from pursuing it. Considering glaucoma but not 100% sure I want to do that clinic the rest of my life.
