Quite simply, BYU is not a powerhouse - there have been several years recently when they have been the 3rd place Utah team. In the last 5-7 years, the BYU-USU series has been pretty close. There's a lot of parity between the two programs. Trends going back to 1974 are irrelevant and don't interest anyone except Greg Wrubell.
