Or at least this way of phrasing the question:

"Which BYU player was, with respect to the position he played at BYU, the best player relative to all other players who have played that position?"

Basically if you listed all of the top BYU players in their individual position categories and ranked them in an "all time best college players at that position" list, who would be nearest the top of his respective list.
