My top 5 ranking regardless of position
1) Ty Detmer--watched almost every one of his games live, so there is a bit of bias here, but we all thought we could win any game he was playing and healthy in.
2) Jim McMahon--had he started 3 years, I think Ty would still have passed him on the career records, but it would be much closer.
3) Kyle Van Noy--Best defender in BYU history...Period. That bowl game against SDSU clinched it with me. He basically won that game single handedly.
4)Austin Collie--Best receiver ever at BYU. Concussions shortened his NFL career but he was a bigger version of Wes Welker.
5) Steve Young--Almost won the Heisman, and lost a close ballot to Hershel Walker. I could easily flip flop him with Collie.
