There are so many to choose from if one can remember that far back. I am going to list just some in each sport and then try to narrow it down further (the best player IMO is the one who can best take over a game) so I will try to come up with the best in each sport then conclude with one if I can:

Track: Frank Fredericks, Leif Arrhenius, Niklas Arrhenius, Henry Marsh = FRANK FREDERICKS (ran multiple races for points)

Cross Country: Ed Eyestone = ED EYESTONE

Baseball: Wally Joyner, Cory Snyder, Scott Nielsen (pitcher), Doug Howard, Vance Law = CORY SNYDER (played 3rd, SS, OF, and pitched, plus could hit). Cory could throw out runners from any position on the field including from the fence.

Basketball: Danny Ainge, Fred Roberts, Mark Durrant, Jimmer Fredette, Tyler Haws, Jeff Chatman, Jay Chessman, Kresimir Cosic, Kyle Collingsworth = three-way tie KRSIMIR COSIC (6'11 with Jimmer's range and ran the fast break at point), DANNY AINGE (just re-watch the Notre Dame game), and JIMMER FREDETTE (range baby)

Football: Gifford Nielsen, Marc Wilson, Jimmy Mac, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Taysom Hill, Todd Shell, Kurt Gouveia, Danny Frazier, Kyle Morrell, Todd Christensen, Bart Oates, Austin Collie, Dennis Pitta, Jim Hermann, Mekeli Ieremia, Lee Johnson, Marcus Kanahele, Glen Kozlowski, Chad Lewis, Trevor Matich, Golden Richards, Steve Sarkisian, Vai Sikahema, Luke Staley, Jamal Willis, Kyle Van Noy, Jamaal Williams = OFFENSIVE PLAYER = STEVE YOUNG (could run and pass) DEFFENSIVE PLAYER = KYLE VAN NOY (re-watch the bowl game against SDSU) = Overall = KYLE VAN NOY (leadership was the edge here, again re-watch the bowl game against SDSU and see what he does on the sidelines - similar to Jimmy Mac)

Volleyball: Ossi Antonetti, Michael Burke, Hector Lebron, Ingo, Lindermann, Ryan Millar, Ben Patch, Taylor Sanders = OSSI ANTONETTI

Women's Basketball: Jennifer Hamson, Tina Gunn, Erin Thorn, Lexi Eaton = JENNIFER HAMSON

Women's Soccer: Aleisha Cramer Rose, Niki Fernandes, Ashley Hatch, Erica Owens, Carlee Payne Holmoe, Shauna Rohbock = ALEISHA CRAMER ROSE

IMO OVERALL BEST PLAYER AT BYU = KYLE VAN NOY (Kyle brought Jimmy Mac's fierce competitive spirit back to BYU, he dominated from his position, and he fought for his team) The others are great, but Kyle was a combination: Jimmy Mac, Kurt Gouveia, Ossie Antonetti, and Kresimir Cosic believing in themselves and dominating
