not playing a nickel defense on obvious pass situations, never teaching our CBs how to play bump n run or man coverage, our blitzes consist of our LBers bull-rushing QBs, not disguising blitzes well enough. And please don't try and say we don't do some of those things due to scheme. You can have your base scheme but it doesn't mean you have to stick to it no matter the situation.
Specifically, why was it so easy for Utah St WRs to get THAT open so many times in a row? Why didn't we change anything defensively during the bye week after we watched both Houston and UVA (mediocre offenses at best) have all day to throw the ball? Specifically, UVA was able to find the same soft spots in the zone time and time again. Both those games should have been blowouts not one-score games. Why take your best DE and make him a LB when you pass rush is slower than malassas. Seriously, I don't think Peck could catch a turtle.
