Alabama fired Gene Stallings (and let's be frank, Gene is about as decent and moral a guy as you're likely to find anywhere) when he had a .810 record (70-16) with an average SOS of 1.74 over 7 years.
But I think there are a lot of folks here on CB who would have been at the head of the mob to get rid of him because he lost 16 games!
Bronco has his faults, but I think he has a lot of good attributes as well, and he's not useless as a coach. Until someone better than Bronco (in all the aspects of coaching at BYU) expresses interest in the job, there's nobody better for our program.
