They lost three games, and they lost ugly--one by being blown out in the second quarter (USC), one by giving up too much on defense (Arizona), and one by not having any offense to speak of (UCLA). (Yes, I'm oversimplifying.) And that last stinker came at a very bad time, namely, near the end of the season when the PAC-12 south division was on the line. Had Utah won that game, they would have ended the year somewhat prettily, with enough wins to get them to the PAC-12 championship game. I think that would have made the difference for Utah, and things would have ended differently.
But because they ended on an ugly note, they were not an attractive choice. So, I guess we agree.
