I've never dealt with submitting any kind of building application before, much less one with all the electrical considerations involved in a solar install. It was much easier than I thought it would be, no corrections to any of my plans.
Next steps: frame out a wall in the basement in the utility room area to mount the inverter and A/C disconnect. Then I need to figure out a good method for locating studs on the roof. I'm installing the racking and panels on the 15th and 16th. Depending on how smoothly that goes I'll run the conduit through the roof/attic/interior wall to the inverter.
Pretty fun project so far. Still under my $8,000 budget but just barely. Probably end up spending around $8,500 before tax credits, $3,950 after. Expecting $1,200 in bill savings per year. Feels a lot better than the $27,000 I was quoted for a similar system by a solar installation company.
