Haven't posted on this project in a few years, but I figured today would be a good day to give an update.
My solar panels are 6 years old now, no noticeable degradation:

I've produced 64.4 MWh, about $7k worth of electricity. Next year I'll hit breakeven on my pre-rebate cash price of around $8.5k. I hit my post-rebate break even about 2.5 years ago.
I have a friend in California who recently got solar through Project Solar (
https://projectsolar.io/). The price was very good and they are happy with how the process went. If I was doing solar today and I didn't want to DIY it I would probably go with them.
