schools? Yes, BYU is obviously different due to the culture, but most D1 schools offer 200 to 250 kids per year, with some schools offering 300 or more. Bronco was offering 50 to 60. I think Bronco was incredibly lazy as a recruiter. If you have 25 spots and only offer 50 kids, then when kids choose somebody other than BYU you are left with the 2 star kids without any other offers in order to fill out the class. The difference is that Kalani is willing to take a shot at the high level recruit, but only after the staff has done it's due diligence to make sure the recruit understands the honor code and is willing to live it. I think there are a lot more quality kids out there who would be wiling to live the honor code if they were given the opportunity, like Jamaal Williams and Squally Canada. I would trust Kalani and his staff to look for those good kids who may not be LDS, but whose mommas appreciate a religious atmosphere.
I also think you do the coaching staff a disservice if you think that they can't handle managing 100 offers, when staffs with similar resources are handling 200 to 300 offers. Give them more credit than that.
