My take: as much as it was reported Sitake was going after big names
late in the game, I think the reality was he spent 85+% of his recruiting time in January & February evaluating, solidifying--& in a couple cases, decommitting--the recruits he already had from Bronco's staff.

While the news & CB discussion focused mostly on the big name linemen he was after, he wasted no time in signing two solid, albeit unspectacular, OL (the 2 blonde guys), & the gargantuan Poly project from So Cal. I liked all 3 of those guys a lot--& they were all thoroughly Kalani's (or his staff's).

My only surprise was that he didn't sign one or two more JC DBs. So the signing of Armstrong the other day was appropriate & in order, I think. Sitake certainly could've signed some 2nd & 3rd-rate JC DBs if he wanted--but now that I think about it, it's probably better he held off on it. We really aren't in desperate need of Corners right now--so waiting for a quality player to become available was probably the right move. For all we know he became aware of Armstrong's situation before signing day, & possibly even before he became BYU's HC.
