I think a 9 year old has 2 pitches. Strikes and balls. Most don't know which
they are throwing at what time. If they do, then they are ahead of the curve (get it, curve I kill myself sometimes)

If you have a 9-10 yo throwing more than 2, maybe 3, pitches...you need a little help with coaching kids.

They can add a splitter to a circle change and fastball(preferably 4-seam only at that age).

Snapping off a 12-6 isn't close to the same thing as a circle change. Arm motion(especially in the elbow) is completely

I'm aware of that, I just don't see a huge value in kids at 9-10 snapping off hooks.
