Sorry, what I meant is that if say you and your wife sign up for the marriott

rewards card and get the bonus (80k points each) plus whatever you accumulate by spending, you can book a 7 night marriott hotel + air package (need 270k total marriott points) AND marriott will then give you 120k rapid rewards points, which will then give you companion pass for that year and year after.
