I have not experienced anything like that described in the original post, but I
Have experienced water bottles thrown at the band while we waited in the sideline, drunk fans coming up to the band and harassing us during the game, fans tripping band members as we left the stadium.
At the 2012 game (I was not in the band) the fans immediately adjacent the BYU section wer very obnoxious, tossing very vulgar insults across the aisle. Some t iced to start fights. My parents won't go to another game i. Rice Eccles stadium because of the fan behavior.
