Sometimes I wish Kalani was more like the curmudgeon Bill Belichick or Saban.
I could care less about how nice or likeable Kalani is in real life, to the players, or especially to fans or boosters.
I couldn't stand Bronco but it had nothing to do with whether he was likeable or not. It had to do with his stupid schtick that I felt made players weak and his mediocre record as a head football coach at BYU.
This isn't an attack on the OP, I'm jealous you got to meet him and talk. I just need to get this off my chest.
I'm just sick of the many posts on CB every day talking about how great Kalani is because he's likeable etc.
Just win baby! Bring us a big win that actually means something nationally, a victory against the yewts(cannot believe it's 2017 and we last beat them in 2009!), and a season where we can be legitimately proud. Legitimately guys. LEGITIMATELY! Not Mickey Mouse proud where we did "good" based on our lack of experience, schedule, injuries, new coaches, and whatever other excuses we use.
He didn't suck his first year. Thats it!
He's done and proven nothing yet. Likeable or not likeable.

I'd say our top 10,000 students would compare very well to an Ivy... but once you get to our bottom quartile the pool
