Very poor logic and frankly a pathetic outlook
First off, this is taking as fact that all p5 teams are created equal. There are really only about 10 P5 programs that are really at an elite level. The rest fluctuate at BYU's level. So if you think Washington State or Northwestern has a chance then so does BYU. Even if there was some truth in your logic all P5 teams play more P5 programs then 5 or 6 so I'd argue it is more difficult for Texas Tech to get to the championship than it would be for BYU.

At the same time you could take that same flawed logic and have BYU schedule KSU, Wake Forest, Cal, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Rutgers, Iowa State, Illinois and Indiana and that schedule would likely be easier then BSU's schedule with only 2 or 3 good P5 programs (which they almost never play). But we'd have 10 P5 bottom dweller wins so...

If you want to argue that BYU has no clear path to a NY6 or the championship then, yes, congratulation's you're reinforcing an obvious point that everyone already understands because it is so obvious.

But then again, how many teams have a clear path to the Championship...? Well I can tell you who they are: Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, FSU, LSU, and Notre Dame, give or take a Stanford or a Florida. One might think Pen State or Wisconsin may fit into that category but how did that work out for them last year? Playing in the conference championship game really doesn't mean much.

My point is, given SOS matched to recruiting ability and BYU has a very long shot to make it to a NY6... as does probably 85% of all P5 schools.

Be a downer if you want, everyone has a right to their own opinion.
