I've wanted a career change for a couple of years. I've recently seriously started networking and looking at my options.
I had a great meeting today with the VP of a mechanical equipment sales company. We talked about a few possibilities and the income potential is very exciting. I'm optimistic that I will find something that fits me well.
One thing that made me start looking was observing the older guys I work with. They are all miserable and can't wait to retire. I don't want to be those guys. By comparison, the guy I talked to today said that nobody wants to retire from his company because they enjoy it. They'd be happy to keep doing what they're doing until they die.
