I'm a big fan of getting non-LDS Frosh on the field in Year 1

Even if its a role on special teams. BYU is not an easy adjustment, and having even moderate success on gameday goes a long way to making the adjustment easier. I would expect Buchanan and Gunter to play immediately. If they project as significant contributors in the future but would only have limited roles as Sophomores, a redshirt in Year 2 is a possibility.

Yes. Every athlete has 5 years to complete eligibility once enrolled full time.

No, that would not be allowed. He'll be a redshirt.
