He is listed on the roster and attending fan fests. Would that be allowed if he were a greyshirt?

Maybe they will – but redshirts still take up scholarships so injury doesn't automatically = RS

Yes. Every athlete has 5 years to complete eligibility once enrolled full time.

No, that would not be allowed. He'll be a redshirt.

Not necessarily. He could simply be a freshman who doesn't play at all.
