Why did Roger skip the last 6 months of 2016? Because his knee was in bad shape, he wasn't skipping to try...
and gain an advantage, he wasn't playing because he wasn't healthy. If he was at all in a position to play the US Open, he would have, but he wasn't.

And please don't insult him by trying to discount his wins in Australia and Miami because of the surfaces, he won because he was playing extremely well. And since he was winning early on when he came back, he played a lot of matches, the knee needed more rest. I was at the Aussie open this year, I saw him play. He won because he was better than everyone else in that tournament, the surface was not the deciding factor at all.

He's played the full schedule you want him to play all that way up until last year, so quit whining about it.
