You said he didn't need to miss the entire second half of the year, he says he did. You are making the claim...
that he did to get an advantage, I am saying he did it get healthy. There is a big difference between the two. You are acting like Roger did some thing dirty by resting and rehabbing his knee, which he wasn't. He was simply trying to get healthy, that's not easy to do after you have played a full schedule for 15+ years. So he took the time to get his body right, which is what any player would and should do if they are not healthy.

And wanting guys to fade into the sunset is weak, if other players are not good enough to beat them, they don't deserve to win.

And if those guys choose to play a lighter schedule, they have earned that right.

I guess you want guys to play so they get injured, meaning you want them to get hurt so young guys have a better chance. If you take a step back, you would see that is exactly what you are saying. If the young guys need them to get hurt in order to win, they don't deserve to win. But the young guys don't need that, Thiem and Zverev have already shown they can win and they will just win more in the future.
