most complaining about BYU suspensions, is about Honor Code violations that aren't even considered an issue at Utah. So, I'm not sure they are really all that similar to things people complain about Utah guys getting away with.
I could be wrong but, it doesn't seem like there wasn't much complaining when a certain recruit (that later became a star) wasn't allowed to come to BYU for a year for the same offense as Carrington. Obviously I'm biased as a BYU fan , but, it sure seems like that is different than not even waiting a week before rolling out the red carpet for a guy within a week of his being kicked off a rival team and within a month of his getting a DUI ( his third violation of team rules).
I'm all for second chance even if it's the Utes (the Garrett Bolles story is awesome). But, the timing of everything sure makes it look like it was less about Carrington getting a second chance and more about Utah beating other teams out in offering that second chance because he's really good at football.
