Piano and it suits her playing then go for it. I brought the idea of a grand piano with my wife who plays a lot better than me and she has no interest.

Also how old are the kids? Because if they're rambunctious, its going to get scratched, food on it etc if its a daily player.

We play the piano daily and have two small kids so the kids try to climb on it, I eat toast and play it.

I would never do that with a 20000 grand piano. That's kind of like a daily driver or the weekend sports car.

But it sounds like you have a nice house and a show piece would be cool. Just make sure the kids get to play it.
