Why this is a good idea:
Even in the legal system, there are separate judges who hear appeals of decisions judges make. And you know what? There are judges who review the decisions of the appellate judges.
We don't have anything close to that hear. There is no accountability of the moderators. At least make the moderators accountable to the users as a body. Not ideal, but better.
