I think the idea behind the #metoo movement is to increase awareness of the problem.
As such, I think it is doing that to a degree. But I can understand why people would not want to expose the perpetrators. If it's a case of sexual harassment, that takes a lot to prove, a lot of time may have passed, and it really isn't the point to go after the person. For more serious issues, while I'd like to agree they should come forward, I can also be sympathetic to their unwillingness to do so because of the pain they'd go through with it: again, proving it might be difficult.

Generally I think it's a good thing for people to be discussing, but I don't like that both of these issues are being put into one bucket, as I think it almost lessens the gravity of sexual assault, even if unintentionally. I also think a social media campaign to a degree dilutes the message, with the perception that people are band-wagoning. I think that's an unfortunate, but real, perception that is coming out of this.
