That's true, but it's based on the facts as they have occurred, rather than a theory that the
committee would have changed things to keep a team out.
Where Gonzaga was a 1 seed, they clearly get in. For them to miss a 4 team playoff, we have to assume that the committee would bump them a line in order to deliberately keep them out. That's certainly possible, but the difference in our positions is that I'm not making that assumption.
A few seasons ago, Gonzaga was ranked #1 going into the postseason (Olynyk's year). The committee would have had to say that GU was the 5th best team to keep them out of a 4 team playoff that season. I don't think they do that. But hey, reasonable minds can differ 😉.
