Trust me, . . . it's not just LDS culture. Maybe we (LDS) think our youth shouldn't have these problems
but everyone, including kids from strong LDS families have these problems.
Almost every ward will have several YM and YW who struggle with these types of problems to one degree or another.
Why? is the question. There are no straightforward set answer(s) why. The causes are likely multiple and treatment isn't standardized. Everyone is different.
I hope Nick continues to move forward and makes it back onto the court in good health.
