Players that want to be at BYU.... Guys like Rawson, Wade, etc should be cougars IMO.

I don't think recruiting foreigners is the answer... With a few exceptions...

Here is what I think Rose should focus on.

Priority #1 get the best LDS kids regardless of where they are from. If the best lds kids all play for provo high school then no problem.

Priority #2 recruit athletes from JC schools. Don't just use JC to fill in the roster out of desperation but recruit good JC players all year and get good ones. Black non lds athletes will have a much easier time in general if they come to BYU as more mature and only for 2-3 years.

Priority #3 good non lds HS or foreign players. If a foreigner or HS player has Christian morals and can ball then let's get a few.

Also retention and development needs to be a priority. Play a system that fits the talent of your team. Don't play a system that is contrary to what your players were recruited to...it will hurt retention, credibility and ultimately your ceiling will be low because you aren't playing to the strength of your personnel.
