leave the state. Similar to BYU football and Bronco, the issue is never getting guys at the top of the class. It's who the round out the bottom of the class with, and it's unacceptable to bring in low end talent just because they're the "best of the rest" LDS. Skip on those and go elsewhere for talent.
Sometimes the approach feels like "get all of the LDS talent you can," rather than get the best LDS talent you can. They get what they can at the top but then they just keep giving schollies out to low end guys.
That's where you get gap fillers like JC and transfers like you said, and recruiting kids from elsewhere. Better talent evaluation and reach.
