pilot (I believe he was a member from the main island) who was supposed to drop it off on our island. He never got out of the plane. Called the mission home and they said they aren't sending another one until they figure out what happened to the first one. Didn't happen for 6 weeks.

There weren't any fishing boats coming in either. So, we borrowed some fishing poles from some locals and went out and caught some fish in the ocean. Also ate tons of guava and mango for a few weeks. Fortunately, we had just purchased a 50 lb bag of rice before all that happened. Unfortunately, after being tired of eating only rice with a little soy on it, my companion convinced me he could make something different. He went to the park across the street, cut some grass and boiled it and put it on the rice.
