would not be able to pick up games not on conference tv deals. SMU does not draw fans period. BYU when it travels picks up fans. I would love to have access to a ny6 game.
Sorry but I do not see us ever making the playoffs without being in a p5 conference to attract the high caliber lds talent let alone nonlds talent. It is amazing what BYU does with the talent that it does have. I love playing p5 schools but too many too early in the season has not proven to be very helpful. By the middle of the season non p5 talent going against p5 talent has taken its toll. You may be right that both sides make too many assumptions.
