Salaries - It's all over the map. There are dozens of players that make over $1M a year in Europe. Hundreds that make between $200K and $1M. The average is low, yes, because of some Eastern Euro leagues that pay nothing. Big pay disparity and no minimums. But even $65,000 is $65000 more than he made playing at BYU.
I didn't pull a random number out and state it as fact. Maybe it's 1 year? Maybe it's 7? Regardless, it is finite and that's my point. He could tear up his knee tomorrow. Why not make money while you can?
That's really great. I'm glad you would have done that. I wish EB would have done that as well. But he didn't. He chose to make money now, doesn't want a grad degree and didn't feel like kicking around Provo to play quasi-meaningless basketball in high school gyms on a non-tourney team for free. Sue him I guess.
