I agree that I would have voted not to convict Joe Miller if I was on that jury. Mark sneaking in to see him, Ellie kicking him around, no recorded confession when he was arrested. The prosecution had a tough case due to the idiocy of the people of Broadchurch.
And I'm really sad Filch's death was never spoken of again. Like a "Hey, remember that time we hounded an innocent old man to kill himself that one time? Maybe let's not do that again." But instead no one seems to have learned a thing from it.
Also, when the defense attorney asked for permission to treat Ellie has a hostile witness, I couldn't really see a difference between that questioning and every other questioning she'd done to that point. She was ruthless.
