They could have done a better job of framing the guy as guilty too. For example, when the defense was saying that Mark could have killed his son because he caught him having sex. Well 2 minutes earlier Mark admitted to writing a letter telling his wife he was leaving her. The defense jumped all over that so all Mark had to do was say "why would I kill my son for catching me having sex if I was already writing a letter to my wife telling her I'm leaving her?"
