not as a professional. A professional career would be cool, no question - but my dream was scoring touchdowns at Cougar Stadium or dunking in the Marriott Center, with a BYU jersey on, and BYU fans cheering me on. It was all about leading BYU glory - that was it.
Obviously some of our best athletes recently feel differently about it. That's not wrong, but it is certainly baffling and a bit frustrating to those of us who are so passionate about BYU.
Especially seeing guys bail out early just to play minor league ball. Just hard for me to believe that Elijah Bryant's dream growing up was to play pro ball for Dortmund Wagonmakers 1860 basketball club in the German B league. And even if it is, that opportunity would still be available after one more year at BYU.
