i know there are movies with cliff hanger and sad endings but other films did
a better job of leaving the audience with some small parcel of victory or satisfaction of some kind. I was much more satisfied with the ending of the Last Jedi which even had Luke Skywalker dying and the villains still alive and in control. There was the sadness of luke dying but the intrigue of how he did it and how he rescued the rebellion. He faces down the enemy an outwits them even though he doesn't defeat them and the door is open to sequel and theres no final closure. But there is some satisfaction that he saved the day for now, even though we wasnt able to defeat them once and for all. Inifinty War just built up to something to be let down. It felt somewhat shameless to me. Seems like the general public is giving it a free pass and excited to see the next one...but I was let down by the ending and starting to feel like theres no rules when you can time travel and resurrect so all the fights dont even mean anything. Just my personal reaction. Not saying other people have to feel that way or that anyone else is wrong. After time I will forgive it once there is some sort of resolution...but in terms of that experience at the end of that movie i would say it was all time give me a break thats how they ended it kind of movie. Especially in a super hero movie. Other genres i will put up with it and be more forgiving. But in super hero movies i need something more to that ending. It didn't work for me. It bothered me. It was too much. too sudden. too much buildup for no payoff...i dont know how to describe it other than I didn't really care for it. Not a fan.
