I remember watching BYU play AFA in 1983 or 1984 on tv with my Dad and Uncle
from our living room in Idaho. I’m guessing it was the 1984 season because my Uncle isn’t the kind of guy who gets into sports so I’m thinking it was a big deal.
Anyway, that’s when I remember first being aware of it all. I would’ve been 6.
I remember my Dad always turning down the tv and turning up KSL on the radio so we could hear Paul James.
When we moved to Utah when I was 14, I thought it was the coolest thing ever to see the stadium where all my heroes had played. My first game in person was essentially a spiritual experience for me as a 15yr old.
