1980. We could go to the byu merit badge powwow
And get a ticket for a buck to sit on the grass on the northeast corner. In those days you could go right down to the sideline.
We beat UTEP 83-7. I knew something was special about cougar football.
Next year I was there when we lost to UNLV on a multiple pitch play and the UNLV guy went right by me on his way to winning the game. At age 13 I just about tried to tackle him.
BYU has been in my soul ever since.
