RE: A few things:
Perform a systematic review of the athletic department and reorganize for success. If athletic success was the goal, BYU needed to make sure that all parts of the athletic department and school administration support that goal.

YES! The more I learn about the Athletics Department at BYU, the more I come to find it's ineptitude. And that's coming from the perspective of a student with two degrees from BYU, experiences as an employee of BYU, and spending more time and money than I should on it's product. The inescapable conclusion is that the AD doesn't care to put in the resources to make it's programs great. They are fine with just ok outcomes.

Get the honor code office to scale back the severity of punishments (for all students, not just athletes), or at the least not adding the "bad PR" penalty to athletes' punishments.

The real dirty secret about the Honor Code is the Honor Code office. They systematically profile, punish, and segregate students. The brown skinned student athlete at BYU is the 1920s equivalent of the "White Man's Burden" colonial subject. Think about this; the HC office can spiritually and academically ruin your life. It has no transparency, no appeal, and is not directly administered or governed by the Church's General Authorities.
