There seem to be two groups of fans at this point - those that expect things to return to "normal" (Broncoesque 9 win seasons) & those that are still shell shocked from last season and wonder if things have really hit rock bottom yet.
I do agree that I would expect these games to be winnable for a typical BYU team over the past 30 years (Cougars would likely go 1-1) although BYU wins over good P5 teams (8+ wins) are very rare (especially on the road). I'm not sure if Arizona or Cal will make it 8 wins but both have a decent shot (ESPN FPI has Arizona at 7.4 wins & Cal at 7.7 w/o a bowl game).
Personally I find myself questioning how much BYU will improve and if it will be enough to return things to normal. Rumors of a defense that can't turn the ball over or make plays and an offense that will potentially be starting a true freshman QB and playing ex-QB's at RB don't give me a lot of confidence.
