on the corner blitz. The corner tipped his hand that he was blitzing when he took a step and turned away from the WR and towards Tanner before the ball was snapped. Several on the BYU sideline saw it and tried to alert Tanner that the corner was going to blitz but he missed it and failed to account for it.
Many Tanner apologists on CB said his throwing the ball away to avoid the sack which would've taken us out of FG range was his best play in the Wisconsin game but had he been paying attention he could've made adjustments and thrown to the WR that the corner had left or changed some things up before the snap to be sure he had a person to throw to to beat the blitz. All the routes on that play went deep iirc and nobody broke off their routes to help because he didn't call for it. We were lucky.
Fortunately we didn't get sacked and was able to make the FG but he very nearly got sacked (he was in the grasp) and had he been sacked we don't win in regulation and have to go to OT. Could've been a different outcome.
