We were extremely fortunate to have beaten Stanford the first time we played them...on our home court with our home crowd.  If we played them ten times, we would have been fortunate to have beaten them once or twice.  Did you see how badly they beat us in the third and fourth sets of that match?  We were extremely fortunate, if not just plain lucky, to have won the fifth set.  Even though we won that match, it was readily apparent that we were not the better team.  Stanford simply had more talent and more depth.  The only reason we were ranked ahead of them was because of our record — not because anyone in the know believed that we were really the better team.  Our gals had a fantastic season and did about as well has they could possibly have done.  Let's appreciate their success, use this experience to build for the future, and give credit where credit is due.
