I went to BYU and am LDS. However, I just don't find the argument
that society is in some sort of "moral decline" versus how things were in the 60's (free love and drug culture), the 80s/90s (crack/coke epidemic) etc as very convincing. I also believe that we (as a Church) broadly (and I know I'm painting with a broad brush here, but I'm not saying you are) too often criticize different belief systems with words like "immoral, wrong, etc."

The reason that I commented on this post is that the idea that some expressed that "You realize Mormons don’t have a monopoly on standards" with the implication that somehow other people should interpret LDS ideals in the same way (the irony in that post is pretty hilarious, though) as their own.

Without getting really off topic, the Church / BYU could get a lot of goodwill by softening their LGBQT stance around morality. I've seen first hand how awful it impacted LGBQT youth (the teachings of 10-15 years ago)
