This is likely the first year since BYU joined the WCC that any team other than BYU, Gonzaga and SMC has been in the Top 100 this late in the season. I also specifically mentioned opportunities for Top 100 wins in-conference because it's important to have a chance to get big wins later in the season so they're fresh in people's minds when tournament (selection/seeding) time rolls around.

I don't disagree that BYU has underperformed as of late. I would like to think that won't always be the case. If that's true, then (as I stated in the earlier post) BYU playing to its potential will underscore just how wide of a gap there is in the overall value/impact of the program between it and just about every other member of the conference. I would say the same thing about the Zags, FWIW, but without needing the caveat about recent underperformance.
