We can do all sorts of mental gymnastics and praise the WCC finally getting schools out of the 200 Kenpom range into the 100 Kenpom range, but at the end of the day, we are are a 1-bid league, with mostly empty gyms (where are the fans?). It's not impressive. All that matters is the NCAA tournament. The WCC is trending backwards in that regard.
I just don't want to make excuses like you, and pretend that the WCC is some sort of amazing league as is, and that we should all celebrate being a 1-bid league (sometimes 2 bids with a"play in game" team). It's bad!!! To pretend otherwise is simply not being honest. There are hundreds of posters on here that have said that the WCC is a boring league---I can't disagree. Only the Gonzaga and Saint Mary's games are ever sold out. Why?
And if you accuse me of being negative.....well, less than a year ago Gonzaga flirted with joining the MWC because they said the WCC was bad, and their fans all bashed the WCC like crazy. So, are they "negative" too? (or just being honest???)
At least I have proposed ideas on how to improve the league. Look, I want the WCC to be better than a bunch of empty gyms and 1 NCAA tourney bid. And I think it can be improved.
