Oh sweet Moses. Seattle is the first city to elect an avowed socialist in the history of the nation, and though the downturn started before than, it has definitely steadily dropped since that pivotal moment. I live in Texas now, and thank goodness. The business climate is phenomenal and companies are flocking to Texas from states like California and New York. There is very little poverty here and the homeless situation is not horrible. But what’s funny is, the more liberal cities in Texas have the worst of it when it comes to homelessness and poverty. Austin downtown is basically an outhouse. And the homeless are super aggressive too. When politicians start promising a universal basic income the wheels are going to fall off.
