Not sure it is realistic to be there every year considering teams with much more budget/less restrictions aren't able to do that either.

Honestly think top 25/NCAA is more realistic 1/2 the time, with top 1/3 finishes the other half. Rose is 8/14 and hasn't had any truly terrible seasons. The downward trend is what hurts, but overall his resume is strong.

Rose got so good at it early on, it makes the "down years" of top 1/3 finishes look terrible. Similar to how no one could stomach Bronco's later years after finishing in the top 25 5/6 years.

Overall, Bronco finished in the top 25 5/11 years. Which IMO, is pretty good, meet your great season goal half the time, and finish top 40 the other half.

So far after moving on we are 0/3 with Kalani (soon to be 0/4) and we've also redefined what a "down year" can look like. We went from fighting for a top 25 finish to a bottom 25 finish. Now an 8-9 win season would not be a "down year" but a great season. The bar lowered very quickly.

My fear is that our expectations have gotten so high we will start to redefine bad/good years for basketball as well.
