several on here talked about how much benching messed up their shoulders. There's a risk for injury with any sport. Throwing a softball tears up your shoulders worse than anything, but I've never seen anyone jump on here and tell people they shouldn't do it. I guess selective altruism only extends to those doing crossfit.
Professional athletes certainly do some of the same movements, but they don't normally go to a run of the mill crossfit gym because their fitness needs are much more specialized. That said, there are some that do. There are several NFL, MMA, MLB athletes that do it.
